Forskningsområder

Min gruppe arbejder med helbredsmæssige aspekter af ernæring, især gravides ernæring men også ernæring i teenageårene. En central resurse er data fra den store fødselskohorte Bedre Sundhed I Generationer, som jeg sidder i ledelsesgruppen for. Min gruppe har publiceret ca. 200 artikler omhandlende kostindtag i graviditeten i forhold til graviditetskomplikationer og barnets helbred og udvikling. En hovedlinje har været at undersøge, om marine n-3 fedtsyrer kan forebygge for tidlig fødsel, en hypotese, jeg og kolleger oprindeligt foreslog, og som i 2018 blev bekræftet i et stort Cochrane review. Der henvises også til en ny ’clinical practice guideline’, publiceret i 2023 på vegne af seks forskellige selskaber/organisationer i American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology-Maternal Fetal Medicine.
