Forskningsområder

Infektionsepidemiologi. Vaccinologi. Studier af vaccine effektivitet og studier, fx register-baserede, af determinanter for vaccination. Har flere års erfaring fra store befolkningsbaserede forskningsprojekter i udviklingslande med fokus på at øge forståelsen for naturhistorien af og i at forbedre behandlingen af episoder med diarre og lungebetændelse.

Under Covid-19-epidemien ansvarlig for at der blev udført registerbaserede studier for determinanter for vaccination, overvåge vaccinationsdækning og effekten af vaccinationsprogrammer. Ydermere blev der udført vaccine effekt studier for de forskellige under-varianter af SARS-CoV-2 og af den kombinerede effekt af naturlig infektion og vaccination, såkaldt hybrid immunitet.
